Clean & Simple Bath Design Inspiration

General Contractor David Stewart of D&D & Sons 'stole' a few square feet of hall space to create this open an airy master bath.

Let The Sun Shine In. High Windows and a clear glass shower enclosure allow light to flow through the bath, yet retain privacy without shades.

Use Earthly Elements. Stone surface like the Carrara marble tiles have character and depth, but still feel modern. To offset their brightness, Stewart used another natural resource-rich mahogany- for the countertop.

Leave Some Storage Open. Towels in baskets under the counter are nice contrast to the hard stone surfaces throughout. Other toiletries store tidily in the doubles vanity's ample drawer.

Add designer details. Stewart spent modestly on the big ticket pieces and splurged on high impact details. Polished-nickel bin pulls and through-style faucets spice up the classic elements. (Gina Provenzano)
